PROGRAMS

The Programs of the EMC address practical challenges facing North Carolina, the nation and the world. Our educational programs are the foundation of efforts to extend the Consortium’s impact into the future. The centers and facilities of the Consortium are unique assets that aid not only the research and clinical programs, but our educational efforts as well.

Many EMC projects address wildlife and conservation questions, but the strong work in the areas of ecology of disease and the examination of the changing interface between wildlife and humans and their domestic animals is rapidly being recognized as critical to the future health of the planet.

The EMC clinical programs are, in many ways, where the education and research efforts meet the road in practical applications delivering health care to the wide diversity of our world’s animal life.
