How to Apply

Prospective students apply electronically to the Graduate School, providing the completed application, curriculum vitae, official transcripts from recognized institutions of higher education, scores on the Graduate Record Examination, a personal interest statement, and three letters of recommendation. Based on these documents the Coordinator of the Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences Program will designate students as acceptable for the program. A student will not be accepted for a Ph.D. degree program unless a member of the Fisheries and Wildlife Faculty has agreed to serve as the major professor.

Applicants must hold or be a candidate for a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or University.  The student will be expected to have completed course work in basic biological and quantitative sciences sufficient to provide the necessary background to succeed in the FWS MS or PhD programs.   Course work in ecology, anatomy, taxonomy, and basic statistics is also recommended.

Entry level students in the PhD program may include very advanced bachelors level students with high potential, or students with appropriate successful masters level or DVM degrees.
