Facilities and Centers

Several unique facilities help support EMC efforts in all programmatic areas. Several large centers support EMC faculty research. EMC marine efforts are primarily based out to The Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST) which has a major research facility in Morehead City, NC. The Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research (CCMTR) based at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, NC provides state of the art equipment for investigation of many key aspects of disease diagnosis and investigation.

Similarly the Marine Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Facility is a unique resource available to EMC faculty and students. Unique animal and clinical facilities are just as important to the consortium. The Wild Carnivore Research Facility on the CVM campus, and the Hanes Medical Center at the NC Zoological Park are just two important examples.
